THIS IS ROCK 'N' ROLL RADIO with Dana Bonn & Carl Cafarelli began its little mutant life on January 15th, 1992 and, like the Energizer Bunny, it's "still going" in 2013!Ĭarl explains "We call it a power pop show, but we mix in some Sex Pistols, Isley Brothers, Toots & the Maytals, Lucinda Williams, Velvet Underground, Al Green, and Elvis Presley alongwith your Pezband, Raspberries, Shoes, and Flamin' Groovies, 'cause it's ALL pop music anyway, right? There is a format in there somewhere, born of the giddy splendor of the golden age of AM Top 40 merging with left-of-the-dial buzz 'n' fuzz." Various Artists "Dana & Carl Present: This Is Rock ‘n’ Roll Radio Volume 3 + bonus disc" The entire record is a Merseybeat/Beatles trainspotter's delight (we'll leave the comparisons up to you) that will appeal to not only fans of 60's music but also some of the other modern interpreters like The Kaisers! Love it, love it, love it! We absolutely love them, we love their music, we love their gigs.". Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant! We make no apologies for gushing about this band.

The confident, rasping vocals and blues-twang guitars form part of a fully-charged battery that includes familiar riffs and chords, propelled by thumping bass and drums. "They have a fair whiff of old Mersey and R&B-informed beat. They are ripping up the past and taking it to the future!". A tight knit group of raw but composed musicians, their rhythms are sweet and their style is superb. "Echoing their influences of The Beatles into their music, there is a fresh vibe around the band as they deliver their brand of punk and rock infusion. They take no prisoners and offer no apologies on their sophomore effort of 60's-inspired hook-filled gems that are guaranteed to have you dancing while you listen (though we don't recommend this if you're listening in your car). Released in conjunction with Liverpool's Cavern Records, Frank, Paul, Tony, and Robert (a/k/a The Beat Rats) have returned with twelve more catchy, tongue-in-cheek-at-times, "Mersey"-inspired pop nuggets. I doubt they'll send back a new system unless it had more issues like mine did.WOW!!! Have Mersey indeed! The long awaited followup to their 2009 Kool Kat debut "A Cellar Full Of Rats!" is finally here. Since you're just getting the backplate replaced though, that should be a pretty safe repair I would hope. I'm aware I could just be unlucky, but I wish United Radio would be bothered to do a more thorough check before sending out a unit with more problems. So, at least in my personal experience, and as much as I love the Switch, the hardware issues have definitely bummed me out. So I sent it back in for repair again, and got a unit that has a raised screen on the right side again. The problem though, was that they sent me back a unit that was warped and that had a raised screen on the bottom side. My repair was in April, so maybe they were still doing quicker repairs for the launch period. But if they told you 2-3 weeks, I'm not sure then. I sent it in for repair and they told me it would be about a week turnaround time.
